A three-year-old girl is being treated for a leg injury after shooting herself at Ballina.
The toddler allegedly discharged the unsecured replica air pistol, or BB gun, on Tuesday night at a property on North Creek Road.
A 39-year-old man took the girl to hospital where she underwent surgery to remove the projectile.
Police have seized the replica pistol and charges are expected to be laid
