VALE TERRY WAND

The Coast’s rugby league community is in mourning after the sudden death of Terry Wand.
Terry helped shape the landscape of the game in the region, taking on the CRL Central Coast Division’s top job in the early 2000s.
Since stepping away from the field, he has also been a champion for Wyong’s Heritage Committee.
He was awarded an Order of Australia Medal in January this year for his service to the game.

I heard the sad news today and offer my condolences to Terry’s family.
He and I were good mates at school and I value those memories.
A few of our old mates have passed and it makes you realise that a greater effort should be made to make contact before it’s too late. We went our various ways and somehow never did get together. I’m sad about that but still vividly remember jumping off the Wyong Railway Bridge into Wyong River (when we were supposed to be studying for the Intermediate Exam.)
Terry was a great guy; very popular; and will be missed by many.
