COUNCIL CONSIDERS QUESTIONING GREYHOUND BAN
Richmond Valley Council will consider writing to the New South Wales Government, asking how banning greyhound racing will affect the region’s economy.
Two motions on the topic will be debated at tomorrow night’s meeting.
“We understand there’s been some issues in the industry, but we have a lot of people involved and it will have a huge effect on our economy, and those individuals.”
“We’re all the time trying to attract industry and business to our region… So when we look like we could lose some, yeah it concerns us.”
Council anticipates vets, pet stores, restaurants and motels could all be affected by the ban.
