Plans to replace the rundown ‘Shelly’s on the Beach’ cafe with a waterfront restaurant, have once again stalled.
Current landowner ‘Fishheads at Byron’ – which bought the site in 2011 has told Ballina Shire Council without financial assistance, the project isn’t viable.
It’s now asking council to partially fund the project and negotiate a revised rental agreement.
A decision on that proposal is expected at tonight’s council meeting.
