Swansea lawn bowler Matthew Baus will return home from the Hong Kong International Classic with a gold medal, after taking out the pairs alongside Barrie Lester.
The duo went up against Irishmen Graham McKee and Mark McPeak in a gruelling four hour marathon contest.
Ireland was leading in the second set 7-2 before the Australian team turned it around, claiming an 11-10 victory.
Lester and Baus faced off against one another in the singles title last Sunday, with Lester edging out 22-year-old Baus, picking up 3 shots on the last end of the tie break.
They are only the second team to win both men’s disciplines in the same year.
