Ballina Shire Council will ask the state government to deploy an additional shark net near the Lennox Head hotel.
A motion, backing the move and requesting additional bycatch monitoring, was carried 6-4 at today’s meeting.
If the state government approves the request – the net will be the sixth trialled off the Far North Coast.
