GAMBLING LOSSES STEADILY GROWING
Gambling losses throughout the Northern Rivers steadily grew throughout the last financial year, according to State Government figures.
The data shows poker machine turnover throughout the Tweed, exceeded a billion dollars.
That resulted in a whopping $96-million worth of losses.
Further south – punters in Ballina and Lismore, parted with around $24-million and $18-million respectively.
Support organisations are calling on the government to tighten wagering restrictions.
