REDEVELOPED WOMENS CARE CENTRE UNVEILED

Expectant mothers can expect significant improvements, when Lismore Base Hospital’s redeveloped women’s care unit opens tomorrow morning.

Part of Stage 3B – the spacious ward includes a special care nursery and five delivery suites, each fitted with a birthing bath.

“It’s beautiful. We’re so lucky and our women will just absolutely love the facilities.”

“These resources have been wanted in this area for such a long time, and as you can see the views are amazing, so coming here’s going to be like going to a private hospital.”

The unit replaces a cramped temporary ward, damaged during a scaffolding collapse in 2015.

Overhauled paediatric and impatient wards will open later this year, as the $180-million upgrade nears completion.
