TWO ARRESTED IN OPERATION SATURATION
A police operation in the far north of NSW has resulted in the arrest of two men over alleged drug and property offences in separate incidents.
In the most recent, police allege a 27-year-old man failed to stop at Murwillumbah just after 3am this morning, and a police pursuit was initiated.
He was stopped on Tweed Coast Road in Bogangar, where he was arrested and later charged with a number of offences including possessing a prohibited drug, two counts of possessing a knife in a public place, and police pursuit.
He will appear in Tweed Heads Local Court next month.
It follows the earlier arrest of a 31-year-old man on Chinderah Road in Chinderah, around 10pm on Thursday.
A search of his car allegedly uncovered cash, mobile phones and an iPad.
The property is alleged to be connected to drug offences in the area.
He was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice and will to appear in Tweed Heads Local Court on Monday 31 July.
Operation Saturation was established by Tweed Byron Local Area Command, and targets property and drug offences in the Kingscliff and Murwillumbah areas.
