A teenager has been charged after allegedly threatening service station staff with a firearm.
Police say the 17-year-old male entered a service station on Glebe Road at Adamstown shortly after 11pm on Saturday.
The teen allegedly became involved in an altercation with a staff member and threw a cup of coffee at them.
He then went outside and retrieved a pistol from his car before allegedly threatening staff members.
The employees retreated inside and the teen then drove away in his car with two friends.
He was arrested about 11:30pm yesterday when he attended Newcastle Police Station with the replica firearm.
He was charged with a number of offences including being armed with intent to commit indictable offence, and possess unauthorised firearm.
