LISMORE MEMORIAL BATHS CELEBRATE 90TH BIRTHDAY

Lismore’s Memorial Baths marked a milestone moment today, celebrating its 90th Birthday.
Bob Trevan’s mother was the first person to dive into the pool in 1928 after raising funds for the project.
He says she’d be thrilled the monument honouring the 200 soldiers who lost their lives in World War One, still stands.
“It’s a pretty historic day for me. It’s a monumental day because she was allowed to be the first person because she raised the most money, to build what you see here.”
Since the day it opened and 633 residents jumped in, the Baths have played a central role in the city.
