“CLOTHING OPTIONAL” BEACH RESCISSION MOTION KNOCKED BACK

A rescission motion to close a ‘clothing-optional’ beach at Tyagarah has been knocked back by Byron Shire Council.
The motion would’ve included community consultation, to look into opening an alternative nude beach.
Outside council chambers, residents say council could’ve done more to address long-standing issues.
“For the past year and a half I didn’t really speak up because I thought there would be a better third option instead of being let’s wait it out or let’s shut it down but a third option never came up.”
Council says it will continue to work on finding a solution.
