ALLEGED DRINK DRIVER ARRESTED AT LISMORE

A man has been charged with high range drink driving after he allegedly attempted to run down two police officers in Lismore.

Police attempted to stop a vehicle on the Bruxner Highway at around 11pm on Monday, with it alleged the 42-year-old behind the wheel reversed the car towards officers, missing the pair by centimetres.

The man was arrested, with checks finding he was a disqualified driver and the car was unregistered.

He also failed a roadside breath test, telling officers he had drunk 10 glasses of wine.

He is expected to face Lismore Local Court today.
