MAN ARRESTED AFTER HIGH SPEED PURSUIT SOUTH OF TWEED HEADS
A 28-year-old man has been arrested at gun-point, after a high speed pursuit near the New South Wales Queensland border.
Police were alerted to a stolen black Commodore late on Thursday evening, with a pursuit, which started on the Tweed Valley Way at Tumbulgum, reaching speeds of up to 200km/h.
It was called off due to safety concerns, before a second pursuit was initiated just before 12:30 on Friday morning.
The driver, a 28-year-old man, was eventually arrested after he allegedly turned the Commodore onto a dirt road, lost control and crashed.
He was taken to Tweed Heads Police Station, where he was charged with a string of offences including driving in a dangerous manner.
Checks of the car confirmed it was linked to a home invasion in Queensland.
