Richmond police have arrested five people in Nimbin as part of a five-month drug operation.
Three men and two women were detained in the town’s centre and police say drugs, including cannabis cookies and leaf were seized.
“The people who were arrested were arrested for street level supply in the Nimbin area.”
The arrest comes ahead of this weekend’s Nimbin Mardi Grass.
“It’s a timely reminder for the people who are attending Mardi Grass that the police will be there in force, we take a zero tolerance to the sale and possession of prohibited drugs.”
Police say they expect to make further arrests.
