A rock fisherman has drowned on the far north coast after being washed into the ocean near Lennox Head.
The man, believed to be aged in his 40s, was fishing at Boulder Beach when he was washed from rocks at around midday on Monday.
He was pulled from the ocean unconscious by surfers.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services the man died at the scene.
