FIREFIGHTERS SAVE MULTIPLE HOMES FROM UKI BUSHFIRE

Residents in the village of Uki on the far north coast were bracing for the worst last night, as an out of control bushfire threatened homes.
It scorched more than 120 hectares of bushland.
Firefighters were assisted by water-bombing helicopters to bring the blaze under control.
It’s since been downgraded to ‘advice’ level.
