CONCERNS FOR TOXIC BLUE-GREEN ALGAE OUTBREAK

Blue Green algae levels in Lake Ainsworth have again reached concerning levels.

Ballina Shire Council says while the water is still safe, lake-users should avoid areas with scum.

The results of further water tests are expected in coming days.. but there’s already concerns toxic algae levels are on the rise.

Council will monitor the Lake over the summer months.
