Regional Express has dumped flights between Ballina and Sydney after 24 years.
The decision’s in response to a sharp downturn over the past six months, and poor economic outlook.
The airline has also raised an official complaint with the ACCC, claiming Qantas is dumping excessive capacity on routes that are already extremely marginal, forcing out smaller competitors.
Qantas will resume flights between Ballina and Sydney in March.
