Northern Rivers residents are being urged to prepare their homes for severe thunderstorms and heavy rain.
The SES responded to more than 80 calls across the region last night, and it says many people were caught off-guard.
“We’re also getting a lot of calls for things that are flying around – things like trampolines, garden furniture and kids play equipment after Christmas so please secure those items,” SES Northern Rivers Commander Mark Somers said.
More thunderstorms are predicted to hit throughout the week.
The SES is urging those who need help to call 132 500 and refrain from reporting incidents via social media.
