WOMAN AIRLIFTED TO LISMORE HOSPITAL AFTER SNAKE BITE

A 49-year-old woman was airlifted to Lismore Base Hospital yesterday afternoon in a serious condition after she was bitten by a snake.

The lady was mowing her lawn on a rural property at Myrtle Creek, just south of Casino, when the snake bit her right foot.

It was believed to be a highly venomous brown snake.
