TOP SEED TYLER WRIGHT ELIMINATED FROM WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

There’s been a massive upset in the World Junior Surfing championships with favourite Tyler Wright going down to Australian wildcard Ellie-Jean Coffey in the third round.

Wright, from Lennox Head, struggled to find solid waves in the early minutes, before riding a 4.6 and 5.

But Ellie-Jean was quick to respond, posting two five point waves to win by 1.13.

“No pressure or anything, i’m only a wildcard in the event, i had no pressure and I was like, i’m just going to go out and surf.”
