BODY FOUND DURING SEARCH FOR MISSING EVANS HEAD WOMAN
Police searching for missing Evans Head mother Amber Christie have located a body.
Officers from Richmond Police District had been searching for the 49-year-old woman, who was last seen leaving her home at Evans Head at 4.15pm on Sunday.
A large-scale multi-agency search was conducted around the Evans Head region, with assistance from officers from Richmond PD, Police Rescue, OSG, PolAir, SES volunteers, Richmond Valley Council rangers, and NSW Surf Life Saving.
At around 10:30 this morning, police located a body during a search of bushland at Bundjalung National Park.
While the body is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of the missing woman.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
