PCYC LISMORE TO BOOST POLICE RISE UP PROGRAM

Lismore’s PCYC is set to receive a $50,000 facelift thanks to funding from the State government

Included in the upgrade, is the installation of temperature control in the gym, martial arts and boxing rooms.

“We’re also looking to do some lighting upstairs, the main basketball court has old lights so we’ll be replacing those with some halogens.”

A portion of the funding will also be committed to expanding the Police Rise Up Program, which helps engage the region’s disadvantaged youth.

“Having that funding here allows us to get a bigger opportunity for the kids here. We can help a lot of kids… Not just the kids disengaged or at risk.”
