In another blow to the far north coast’s entertainment scene, this year’s Falls Festival at Byron Bay has been cancelled.
The organisers, also responsible for the popular festival Splendour in the Grass, were hopeful the event could go ahead in December.
They had even drawn up a contingency plan to make it an ‘all Aussie’ line-up, when Australia’s international borders closed earlier this year.
They’ve since conceded it won’t be possible under current social distancing protocols and with border restrictions in place.
The festival’s been headlined by big name performers like Childish Gambino, Silverchair and Blondie in the past.
