FIT 4 SERVICE PROGRAM VISITS LISMORE ARMY RESERVES UNIT

The Lismore Army Reserve Unit today put eight local high school students through their paces to see if they have what it takes to serve.

It’s part of PCYC’s 10-week ‘Fit 4 Service’ program run in conjunction with the Police Force – aimed at young people hoping to pursue a career on the front line with the Defence Force or Emergency Services.

“By handing back to the youth and giving them options is an opportunity for them to see they don’t have to leave the region to have good quality employment and hand back to their society,” Adjutant Daniel Bligh said.

“Very grateful for it – for the opportunity – I know not many people get this opportunity but yeah very good experience,” program participant, Rocket Wilson, said.

It’s hoped an all-female program will be held next year.
