Imagine heading to the pub for a quiet weekend drink, then hours later discovering you’re a multi-millionaire.
Well, that was the reality for one lucky Keno Player from Ballina, who won more than $2,000,000 after purchasing a winning ticket at the Slipway Hotel on Friday night.
The man said he had a good feeling when his numbers started popping up on the screen, but he didn’t realise just how much he’d won.
“I was there on Friday and we were watching the draw,” the man said.
“The first number came out, then the second, and then the third – It was looking promising.”
“By the ninth number I realised I only needed one more and there we go!”
“I thought I’d won $2,000 and I was stoked with that, but $2 million!”
“I was shaking. I couldn’t believe it. I still can’t!”
The loving father plans to spend his winnings on a new house.
The manager at the Slipway Hotel, Kel Campell was delighted by the news.
“We are all so happy for this man,” she said.
“Congratulations to him from all our customers! We really hope he enjoys this life-changing win.
“We were thrilled to be part of this exciting moment. Everyone in the venue was so happy.”
