A 22-year-old female player is in hospital tonight after being injured in a tackle at the West Ballina sports field this afternoon.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter responded to the incident shortly after midday.
The woman was airlifted to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition, suffering spinal injuries.
