BALLINA FOOD STALL HELPS THOSE IN NEED

Those struggling to afford essentials like bread, milk, fruit and vegetables now have a lifeline on the north coast.
Yesterday, Ballina’s Life Care group began operating its first discount food stall on Tamar Street.
The service gives those on a pension or health care card access to cheap produce.
“I like to help people and make a difference – try to make a difference to people who are doing it hard.”
The service will be offered every Wednesday from 9:30am until noon.
“If there is anyone else out there two has fresh food or any other food they would like to donate it would be greatly received.”
Life Care also accepts donations.
