SECURITY EQUIPMENT TO BE UPGRADED AT BALLINA BYRON GATEWAY AIRPORT

Security will be beefed up at Ballina Byron Gateway Airport, as part of a $2m investment.
The federal funding will see advanced body scanners introduced by April.
“We are doing everything we can to keep this airport upgraded and keep this airport up to the standard that it needs to be because we want continue it to grow,” Federal Member for Page, Kevin Hogan, said.
It comes as construction on the new airport entrance begins tomorrow.
It’s hoped the Airport Boulevard project will be complete by November.
