LISMORE COUNCIL CANDIDATE REVEALS BULLYING AND INTIMIDATION CLAIMS
They say you need thick skin to enter politics but a Lismore resident contemplating running for a seat on council says she’s been met with intimidation and bullying.
Independent Sally Flannery is yet to officially announce her candidacy but says she will continue working on forming a ticket.
“I think there’s a real culture of harassment and intimidation that happens at a local government area not just in Lismore but I think we’re definitely an extreme example of what happens nationwide,” Ms Flannery said.
Lismore Council has been embroiled in controversy over the past 12 months, with two councillors resigning, the mayor quitting and the general manager sacked.
