MAN CHARGED AFTER NORTH COAST TEENAGER SHOT
A man has been extradited to New South Wales and charged, after a teenage boy was shot in the state’s north earlier this month.
Police say the 15-year-old was shot and his 45-year-old father was assaulted on Camelia Way at South Grafton, just before 9pm on July 10.
Both have since recovered from their injuries.
Police started an investigation, leading to the arrest of a 30-year-old man at a Gold Coast park on Monday afternoon.
He was taken to Southport Watchhouse, as detectives travelled to Queensland – where they were granted the 30-year-old’s extradition to New South Wales.
The man was taken to Tweed Heads Police Station and charged offences, including shoot at with intent to murder and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The accused was refused bail to appear at Tweed Heads Local Court today.
