The Northern New South Wales Local Health District has recorded 1,027 new covid cases overnight.
407 were recorded in Tweed Heads, 205 in the Byron Shire, 165 in Ballina, 113 in Lismore, 74 in the Clarence valley, 48 in the Richmond Valley, and 15 in Kyogle.
46 patients are now in hospital and 6 are in ICU.
