BYRON BAY AND TWEED HEADS COVID DEATHS

A Tweed Heads and a Byron Bay resident, both aged in their 80’s, are the Northern Health District’s latest covid casualties.

The region also saw a slight rise in hospitalisations from 40 to 44 cases overnight, with five in ICU.

To date 18 Northern New South Wales residents – 11 men and seven women – have died with the virus.

Meanwhile, case numbers were almost half of yesterday’s with 695 new infections.
