Lismore Mayor Jenny Dowell has been honoured with a prestigious award for her contribution to promoting friendship between the city and its Japanese sister city, Yamato Takada.
The mayor received the Foreign Minister’s Commendation from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a special ceremony last night.
“It’s quite overwhelming to receive such an award, and I see it definitely as a tribute to the relationship over many,many mayors, over 52 years”
