BYRON FILM FESTIVAL VIRTUALLY THE BEST

Organisers of the Byron Bay Film Festival are expecting one of their biggest years yet, thanks to the endorsement of some Hollywood A-listers like Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston.

Virtual reality will return as a key feature of the festival – with displays alongside an artist workshop program.

The aim – to educate and inspire film makers through the next generation of technology.

“They’re going to be very much working with assets and creating models and elements that can then be animated and brought in to those environments.”

Now in its 11th year – the festival runs for 10 days across six venues and features more than 175 independent films.

The red carpet will roll out for opening night in two weeks.
