A teenage girl has undergone surgery after being stabbed in Goonellabah early this morning.
Police were called to Shearman Drive at about 2:30, where the 17-year-old was found suffering multiple stab wounds to her throat and torso.
She was taken to Lismore Base Hospital.
Police believe the offender is known to the victim and investigations are ongoing.
