A builder has been fined $8,000 for illegally disposing of asbestos at the Byron Resource Recovery Centre.
Byron Shire Council says the man dumped the fibro sheeting at the centre, despite the presence of numerous warning signs.
Staff have now safely disposed of the sheeting.
