FIRE HOSPITALISES LISMORE HIGH STAFF

Hundreds of Lismore High students were evacuated around lunchtime today, when part of the school’s manual arts area caught fire.
It’s thought the blaze broke out inside a vent system used to extract sawdust, with smoke seen billowing from the roof.
Fire crews arrived around midday and quickly extinguished the flames.
Two male staff members, aged 35 and 45, were taken to Lismore Base Hospital suffering smoke inhalation, while a firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion at the scene.
