MAN FOUND DEAD ALONGSIDE RICHMOND RIVER
A man has died in what looks to be a freak accident on the state’s North Coast on Saturday night.
Police were called to River Street, near the Ballina RSL Club, at around 11pm following reports of a possible drowning.
They found a man, believed to be in his 50s, deceased on the rocks beside the Richmond River.
He is yet to be formally identified.

Initial inquiries suggest the man’s death was not suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
A second man received treatment for cuts and abrasions.
