NSW FORESTRY CORP FINED FOR BREACHING ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

The New South Wales Forestry Corp has been fined more than $16,000 for conducting work near an endangered plant at Whiporie on the far north coast.

The Environment Protection Authority found multiple trees had been cut down and a large cover area had been disturbed near the endangered shrub, known as the ‘Melichrus Gibberagee.’

The work was conducted in the Gibberagee State Forest.
