LONG GULLY ROAD FIRE DECLARED OUT
There’s a sense of relief in the state’s northern rivers today, with the Long Gully Road Fire declared out by the RFS.
44 homes were destroyed in the inferno, which claimed the lives of elderly couple Gwen Hyde and Bob Lindsey, found dead in their home at Coongbar.
More than 74,000 hectares were scorched in the blaze, which started as a result of a lightning strike on the September 5th.
The nearby Busby’s Flat fire is listed as ‘Under Control’.
