MODERATE TO MAJOR FLOODING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN NSW
Moderate to major flooding has been forecast for a number of river systems across Northern NSW, as heavy rain makes it’s way down the coast from Queensland.
Northern New South Wales is expected to cop a drenching in the coming days, with the intense low pressure system pummeling Queensland moving south.
The State Emergency Service is urging residents to be prepared, issuing a flood warning for communities along the New South Wales/Queensland border.
Moderate to major flooding has been forecast for the Nambucca River as well as the Bellinger and Kalang Rivers.
The Wilsons River, Wollombi Brook & Lower Hunter River can expect minor to moderate flooding.
While a minor flood alert has been issued for the following rivers: Tweed and Rouse Rivers, Hastings River, Macleay River, Brunswick River and Marshalls Creek.
The SES say locals in flood prone areas should start preparing now.
And remember – stay safe – never drive, walk or play in flood-affected areas.
