LOCAL HOSPITALS RECRUITING CASUAL STAFF AMID COVID-19 CRISIS
The Northern New South Wales local health district has recorded one new case of COVID-19 overnight.
The region’s total now stands at 49. More than 2800 people have undergone testing at local clinics in recent weeks.
“That only tells us that isolation techniques are working and that we’re seeing a reduction in return of overseas acquired conditions,” Chief Executive of the Northern NSW Local Health District Wayne Jones said.
It comes as dozens of new staff join the ranks at local hospitals, to ease the burden on health workers.
“We’re delighted to say we’re being approached by hundreds of people to come and work for us and help us during this time of need,” Jones said.
