It was a lucky escape for a Tweed Heads woman after she returned to her unit to find smouldering clothes sitting on her bed.
Emergency crews were called to the unit on Binya Avenue just before 6pm last night, to find the two-story townhouse filled with smoke.
Firefighters used an electric portable fan to remove the smoke from the unit.
Just how the laundry caught alight, remains a mystery.
