BIG SURF FORECAST TO HIT BYRON BAY’S COAST THIS WEEK
Byron Bay’s beaches won’t live up to their postcard perfect reputation over the coming days, with high tides expected to wreak havoc on the coast.
The swell could reach six metres come the weekend.
While a tide of nearly two metres is forecast on Thursday night.
“There’s already trees and stumps washed down from Clarkes overnight so more of that to come I’d say. It stays around this size up to Friday at this stage at 2.5-3m and then come this weekend it gets bigger again,” Lifeguard Supervisor, Steve Mills, said.
Lifeguards advise against swimming, rock fishing and offshore boating during the big swells.
