Police are continuing to investigate a fatal crash on the Bruxner Highway at West Ballina yesterday.
Emergency services were called just after 2.30pm, after reports a van and ute collided, the driver of the ute sadly died at the scene.
The driver of the van, a man in his late thirties, remains in a stable condition at Gold Coast University Hospital.
Police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
