Authorities say blue-green algae at Lake Ainsworth is on the increase, and have now issued an “amber alert” for the popular Lennox Head lake.
While the water is still safe for recreational use, people have been urged to steer clear of the blooms.
Contact with effected water can result in skin irritations and ingesting it can lead to long term health problems.
