Residents in Yamba will be counting their calories and hitting the pavement in the next few months – as they compete in the first-ever New South Wales Healthy Towns Challenge.
The town’s application to compete was one of five to make the cut, including Coomera and Wellington.
The challenge starts next month – with the community that loses the most amount of weight by July – declared the winner.
The New South Wales Ministry of Health has given a $15,000 grant to Yamba – to help it embrace the healthy change of lifestyle.
