EFFIE LOOKING FOR LOVE AT KNIGHTS TRAINING

Willie Mason’s arrival at the Knights is not only attracting the media – but also celebrity friends.
Australian comedy character “Effie” was at training today to show the boys a few of her own footy skills and to welcome her close friend, to the club.
“Just came to touch base with the hunky Knights players and say hello to Wayne and of course Willie, Willie and I are very close. Both legends, both often misunderstood, both up against the odds, both reinventing ourselves, better than ever you know.”
Played by Mary Coustas, she portrays a stereotypical second-generation Greek Australian and is most remembered for her role in the sitcom “Acropolis Now”.
It has been several years between performances for Effie, but she’s returning bigger, better and with bouffier hair than ever at Newcastle’s Lizottes on Mothers’ Day.
“I’ve been uplifting the public with my visual, you know, self. I’ve been busy doing other stuff. It’s very rare that I get the chance to come out and do something live. And it’s where I started and it’s what I love the most.”
And what can audiences expect from the “Greek tragedy”?
“I’m looking for love, it’s come to that time, I started off picky and now I’m desperate. So I’m looking for love in all the wrong places that’s why I am here at the Knights. ”
